Here's the crux of my view on this album: it's on the down path. Cake looses part of its humor for melancholy and you can feel more saddened irony in their songs. They're still great and all, but for example 'Cool Blue Reason' is very cold and 'Sheep Go To Heaven' is less obscene, luxurious than it could be (i think it could be sang by children just as is). It's still a great album and the prolongation is there, particularly in some songs like 'Guitar' or 'Hem of Your Garment'. Meanwhile, Cake demonstrate (and it's actually honest to assume it) that they do not detain everlasting Magic.
